The days are getting longer and that means spring is coming. If you were to look out our window you wouldn't believe me. Today it is cold and snowing and we have a blizzard coming with even more snow. It still seems frozen here but the animals aren't fooled. We have a rabbit due to kindle soon and we're surprised by our first chicken egg of the season! Most people don't understand why we have chosen to farm but part of that is to be connected to our land and to produce the food that we consume. Sure that means hauling buckets of hot water for our livestock and shoveling out frozen manure and animal pens but it also means getting that first taste of spring that most people are too busy to notice, from a first laid chicken egg to baby rabbits. Signs of spring are there but only if you know where to look!
